Are the UNIONS doing anything?
What are the UNIONS telling you?
Have you figured how much money in dues you have paid? How much money in dues the UNIONS are losing? Have the UNIONS been bought out by UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD? What will the UNIONS do for you from this point on? Guess we will find the answer to that last question on this next contract. As the do something’s that have been furloughed find new jobs and the do nothing’s still draw a check it makes one wonder is it worth joining another UNION? Especially in a right to work state.

Ble-T 88 has a very good leadership. Willing to fight for the worker. But the International is bought and paid for. Locals have no pull unless every member agrees. If the international wont listen to the Local then your up Schiff Creek.
WE HAVE UNIONS???
These boys and girls are paid for!
Doesn't matter how you vote the company will get what it wants...how you ask?
Don't be insubordinate, do as you're told and fill out a claim that will never be paid unless you are part of the 5 to 6 man click that your local union rep takes care of. That is in every terminal and every local. Facts. Case closed.
We are all being played by the company and union.
Get ready for 1 man crews whether you like it, believe it or vote against it.
You can always quit. No one is holding a gun to your head to work for the RR.
Termination after One year and 1 day only covers members with less than 3 years of service. How many of those members do you think are left? And where do you think Railroad Retirement came from? it was lobbied for by unions!!!
The unions have zero control over layoffs. Zero. Here's what they do have control over, if you are furloughed they've bargained for you to have four months of health insurance for you and your family, they've bargained for you to get unemployment benefits through the RRB for the maximum amount of time allowed by RRB regulations, your position on the railroad is reserved and waiting for you based on seniority and no-one else can take it unless you turn it down if there's a callback. If you don't like how your local is run then run for office and change it. If you don't like what your officers are doing then talk with them and if they won't talk to you then go above them. If you think contract negotiations and their results have an unfavorable outcome then read and understand the RLA and see if you have a different opinion once you are better informed. Think about how long you'd last with a railroad as an at will employee.
If you’re correct and the employees that are left are do nothings that wouldn’t survive on the outside, then yes, the ones that are left are certainly getting their money’s worth.
How is everything that is happening the union's fault? Unions cannot dictate how many employees are needed. They can't tell the company how many to hire. They don't like what's happening anymore than you do, and if you don't like the job your LC is doing then you do it. You'll find out that it's a thankless job, and everyone blames you for their lack of knowledge. Remember, Unions are the reason you are getting paid the amount you do and have overtime after 8 hours, you can also thank them for vacation time. Learn what the heck you're complaining about, do something to help and stop turning in your own craft , and remember above all, unions protect your rights not your opinion
The consensus that I am getting from reading all of your posts, is that you don’t believe in the unions that you are paying every month. Maybe it’s time you vote them out. My opinion is that the company would love to see them go too. All they do is protect the sh^* workers, while they claim to care about this “code of excellence.” In my experience there, there aren’t very many that actually practice the “code of excellence.” Most refuse to actually gain any skills that will help them perform their jobs better because they know that if they are worthless they will not be asked to do much and still be protected. There is no merit system for advancement with unions in place. You actually get slapped for going above and beyond by your union leadership because you make others look bad.
Unions s— anyways, all they do is protect c-appy employees
The union has always been in bed with the company! It’s been like that forever! R Mojica was a union man for the worker. Yet would spend time with management out on the golf course! How are you on your working people’s side but are rubbing hands at the golf tournament with management? DJ dame thing negotiating deals to benefit the wife and screw everyone else! I just want to know how do I get out of this chicken sh– outfit and not have to pay anymore? They’re not doing anything for us why should we pay? You would think our local chairman would put out a monthly email addressing the changes. But instead we get nothing we can do! Maybe I should run for chairman too. Get paid to say nothing we can do!
Nope I’m getting SHAFTED
I can say this, I was voted to represent us as a union member . Did I know all the rules? No. Was I a hard core union guy? No. Did I have answers for workers when they called me? No. Did I get extra money and my cell phone paid for? Yes. My point is if they voted my dumb a– in, imagine what we have leading us?
It’s like the unions now days are more of a business, making money and worrying about how many dues paying members are on the roster.
I get a lot of lip service from the BLE. The company will let them know when they can do something.
