Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Business is not profitable when your customers are a commodity.

I've heard management say the train everyone jumped on is going 200 mph without brakes and the wall is dead ahead. It's inevitable. The competitors are providing a cheaper product with better service. Just look at a SF advertisement; then, look at a USAA advertisement. One compliments the people who provide the service (internal customer) and the external customer. In fact, it is my opinion SF ads belittles internal and external customers.

Business isn’t profitable when policyholders are jettisoning left and right. Same for employees when you lose the good ones you know what you end up with.

In many states that would not be possible. Can be licensed as an agent or licensed for claims, but not both.

note to leadership : the way you treat your employees is the way they will treat your customers. you treat your employees bad and that gets passed onto the customer. no employee is going to knock themself out to provide remarkable service if they’re forced to piss in a bottle at their desk so they don’t screw up their metrics .

Have you noticed the GEICO ad stating that everyone you talk to is a licensed agent? That matters——Half of the SF sales and claims employees aren’t even licensed. GEICO is aiming for #1 and its projected within two years.

Customers are not the commodity, the insurance products are and have been forever. We were once the premium brand, now with the exception of the agents there is not one thing about SF that differentiates us from the pack ,well maybe our financial strength.
