If a company tried to pay workers such low wages in our country, they would be shut down, boycotted, and sued. How does it become okay to employ people in other countries to do these same jobs for pennies on the dollar? I just don't get how countries and corporations think it is okay to use their people this way. If we all made the same across the board, what we are seeing now would never happen and world trade would be no big deal because no country would let their citizens be used for slave labor wages.

Because wages are set by prevailing economic conditions in different countries, not everyone makes the same thing around the world. Things cost less in developing countries which is why people are paid less, just like how things are more expensive in NYC and California than they are in Cedar Rapids, and wages are adjusted for cost of living. They are paying good enough rates in those countries to get people to work there.
Don’t take the work. No one is forcing you and no one’s destiny is to work at PepsiCo.
Very good point. I was wondering when someone was going to mention it.
