I am a self checkout host, i heard some cheering from the online grocery pick room. Come to find out they had gotten a raise. The front end mgr had told them. Another host had told me we were getting a raise i asked how she knew, she said she heard our front end mgr talking about it. I asked why he hadn't said anything to us. We deal with all the complaing customers, no cash in the machines,no food on the shelves, my card is not working, i cant find what i am looking for...we are in a confined area where more than a thousand people a day are in our faces about something....and we get nothing? A lady asked me where she could get her covid shot i told her i didnt know anything about it she said she had an appointment i said well maybe you can find out over at the pharmacy. The customers can get shots but not us? Us who are in contact with hundreds of people everyday? This is so fd up. I have been working full time hours every week for a year but i am still considered a part time employee. I only got a 150 dollar bonus not the 300 you read about. I am homeless, i cant qualify for a home loan because i am considered a part time employee. I was told it doesnt matter that i work full time hours every week. until i am determined to be a full time employee i wont be considered for a home loan. I can make a house payment I pay 750 a month for my belongings in 3 storage units. I cant afford to rent a home when places start at a thousand a month and up. Much less come up with the deposit and first months rent. But this is my worry, walmart could care less.

I have been with Walmart for almost six years. When I started in 2015 it was 9 dollars an hour, then it went up to 10 dollars an hour, then I got a 22 cents raise, and when it went up to 11 dollars an hour I lost that 22 cents raise, and when I got my one and only that I can remember in 6 years I am currently stuck at 11.44 an hour after six years with this company when people hired straight off the streets are making more then me. Sinoreity is a joke and no one here is created equal. You know how they been pressuring Walmart to pay 15 an hour for the longest so they decided to just do it in Bakery and Deli. To me that is just being slick so you can't say Walmart ain't paying the 15 and that makes them just a bunch of Snakes. Beyond fed up with this trash company and id be a s—er if I'd stay which is why this is most defiantly my last year if I don't get FIRED before I quit cos I absolutely gives zero f*cks bout this place when there are better opportunities out there like going back to school and getting an education and bettering your life cos this place will get you no where unless you move up in the dump which is unlikely with the turn over rate and favortisms... Bye!

I have been working at Walmart for about 2 years now. I started as a cashier, then I learned Customer service, then I moved on to learn Money center, my first year in and I volunteered to do layaway. I finally wanted off the registers and asked to get moved to apparel. I now have to do housewares, domestics, and furniture by myself 5 nights a week. I still only make 11.22 an hour. I know 7 different departments in my store and still make less than a cashier just hired. This not giving everyone a raise is just bs. We are expected to do the work of 5 people, to keep the store organized make sure all returns are put up and not complain.

My wife has been with walmart ten years. She only makes 11:44 a hour. Meantime they just added all this extra work. Getting rid of the csm. They have to do advanced reports fill all the machines with money. When it is low they have to go get the money and fill them. They have to have a tc70 to do everything on. They have to put work orders in when the machines break down. They have to fix the machine when it jams. Well walmart can shove it. She won’t be staying she can go some where else and make fifteen an hour. Walmart is going to lose people like crazy. The front end people at walmart never get recognition. They are the last people to be seen before you leave the store. Without them no one would get out of the store. Good luck all the ones that didn’t get a raise. Walmart you should be Ashamed of yourselves. You give raises you do it a-crossed the board. Not to some and none to others. You are a team and without one member nothing would get done or finished. How sad for my wife. She is done with you. Because she don’t need you. She was looking for a job before you and she will find another one after you. If I were all you cashiers I would walk out all together. And make walmart think.

Did anyone notice the 300 dollar bonus for covid, however it was more like a payday advance because they cut everyone's hours for 2 months and recouped the bonus.... it's a joke to work at walmart...

I didn't get a raise in 2 years. Management said it was because I fell into the overall raise to $11. And so they considered that my raise. Newer highers make more than I do. I started at $9, went to $10 after 90 day probationary period and then when the overall store salary went to $11, that's what I'm still at.

All the above is the truth. I’ve been with Walmart 14 years in produce department in store 5313 lake St. Louis Missouri. This store has been a great store and management was very good. Then the store manager decided to step down after 3 years. Shortly afterward co-managers and asst managers started leaving company altogether. New management has changed ever year. Now management doesn’t manage they are to afraid. All instructions come from Bentonville ark. Via e-mail. Like the above stores turn over has gone out the roof. Cannot hire new employees because everyone else pays more. Got people doing the work of 2-3 people. Bentonville sends out new MOD sets that don’t fit each store and local store management will not allow us to change to fit our store layout also send out stocking procedures and time frame to be done new system doesn’t work, which means freight doesn’t get done until afternoon. Cannot get into stock room because new freight has to be in there on pallets. Stocking half a– done because cannot get to it. Lack or help because they can’t hire, poor pay, people sick, vacation, and piss poor scheduling by management with no fexability to change our cover absence. Walmart you want to fire come on up and your welcome in our produce department anytime. If fact why don’t someone in home office work in our department for a month. Fine out what’s really happening in your stores. We have a district manager coming so management is helping so we can look good. What bull STOP telling us when your coming HOW STUPID I’m here bidding my time to retirement. Your 2% raise is a absolute disgrace and slap in the face. Evaluation by people that don’t know you or your work, another slap and joke wasting my time and management. Thank you

Probably not. That is one reason so many people are leaving or only working for two weeks and then quit. We have gone through at least 10 people since the beginning of the year. Some only lasted two weeks. Why should I work hard, do good work, go above and beyond for the customers when others are slacking, leaving early every day, coming in late, being slow and lazy, and then when the yearly raise comes we get the same amount.
Also, our shift used to make .75 over minimum wage but when minimum wage went up in our state our pay did not go to .75 over the new minimum wage. So now after two years at the company I make the same as someone just starting.
I am ready to leave because just across the street from our store at Target they start you at $15 an hour

Well, at least it's not Target. I applied, went to the interview and all went well, and then had some young girl without a mastery of the English language call and ask why I didn't show for my interview. They then sent me a "do not reply" email saying they don't want me.

Been at walmart 24 years did not get a raise this year. I had a good evaluation but no one can give me a reason. Personal thinks it is tied in with how many points I have but has to call home office to find out for sure. Anyone else not get a raise?

At the store I've been working overnight for over 3 years and still waiting to be switched to day shift as I was promised when I started, the middle management is a joke who let their position go to their head and love to show their power be pushing everyone around and forcing everyone to do more than humanly possible just so they look good to the store manager. After I hurt my back due to an overnight manager making me pull double stacked pallets of produce through the store even after I had informed them I was experiencing extreme lower back pain and then made me pull the whole truck delivery by myself without any assistance even offered my orher associates. And if you think Walmart will stand-up for you and get you needed medical treatment if you're injured on the job, I have some beautiful ocean front property in Arizona to sell you, because Walmart will do anything to keep from paying a dime for your injures.
Everyone on our overnight crew are ready to quit because management seems determined to force everybody to quit or be fired for things they didn't even do. This seems to be because the store is probably going to be another store in our area closing at midnight very soon, and they don't want to be responsible for paying unemployment.
As for getting raises, you only get a measly 2% tops if you're one of their favorite employees who knows how to kiss up to management. Now this year they've informed us we won't be getting a pay increase if we have an occurrence on our record because of being sick or in my case injured on the job and having constant severe back pains.
It seems that Walmart is following the exact same path that Sears did in the past before going bankrupt. When you treat your employees like stray dogs and expect them to each do the work of 4 or 5 people and keep threatening them to do more or face punishment for not doing so, it's only going to cause employees to loose intrest in doing a good job and instead just do the minium required. And that's going to show up when customers need something or want quality service when being checked out by cashier's.

@133hh0tM-5oym Unfortunately that is the case for many places. The Walmart I was in the only way you moved up the ladder was not how hard you worked, but who you knew. It was indeed disgusting. A girl that started after me was able to go to the day time (we were overnighters). Lots of the people I worked at night tried to move to the day time and none couldn't. Later on we find out her husband worked apparently in cap 2 so that just tells you so much of how people move up in the company.

I really love those comments in here. Everyone that comments here knows how hard is to work at Walmart. The favoritism and the unprofessional management team are getting worst and make everyone wants to leave. I really thought it was just me that feels that way but now I know is not just me. They promotes the people that they like not the ones capable to do the job better and with the hours cut the situation got worst:(

the amount of corporate c—s—ing here is astounding, "HURR!! I DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE MAKING THE SAME AS I DO!! F— PEOPLE STARTING OFF MAKING $15/HR!! I SPENT 30 YEARS GETTING TO $14!! I WOULD RATHER STAY AT $14/HR FOREVER THAN HAVE SOME >NEW GUY EARN $15/HR TO START!!"

It really just plays into this disgusting company's hands. Be happy that your fellow co-workers are being paid a living wage so that they're less likely to s— at their job and have more incentive to Want to keep it. Or keep paying people slave wages and see how far that gets you when your coverage calls in every other day causing you to work harder to get your annual non-performance based raise of 2% for your efforts.

Everyone subjected to work here should be making $25/hr minimum for having to put up with the abuse of all of the uneducated low rent scumbag managers and supervisors.

Yes, we're talking about whether Walmart will actually give raises, not your id–tic 15 minimum BS. 15 minimum will just guarantee those who DESERVE raises won't see one

Post ID: @4pwo+133hh0tM

Yes let's raise the starting wage to 15 so the people that really deserve it can make more money, and the long term employees can just continue to get screwed over. We don't need (or deserve) 15 to START, current starting pay is fine but some of us sure as hell deserve a real raise once in awhile...

Why would they, they haven't given a raise in years and you dummies keep working there anyways. When raises don't match inflation (2+%) it isn't a "raise" your getting, it's a pay CUT! You dummies just keep working those holidays for nothing and watching as they steal your sick time, cut your PTO, and cut your pay on a yearly basis. The smart people have already quit, there are better jobs everywhere right now and there's zero reason to work for this company.

@@133hh0tM-cal Amen brotha! Today was my last day at Walmart gave my two week notice and officially out of Walmart. Thats honestly one of the big reasons I left no raises. One of the guys that was their for 3 plus years was making minimum wage he wouldn't get raises. We made the same exact pay minimum wage, I was 4 months in and he 3+ years (he was a hard worker, because I saw it myself). That is why I left. I loved the people I worked with I just didn't see a future for me. To much favoritism if I would of stayed I would be making minimum wage, no holiday pay, working almost every weekend for sure (they had me working for almost 3 months Friday, Saturday, Sunday back to back). To me their was no real incentive other than my co workers and the small pay check I would be making.

Walmart shoots themselves the little I was at Walmart I came in handy. I would basically be a back up cashier along being a night stocker. A lot of the people at night didn't know how to ring or they didn't want to learn. Other stores might be different, but the one I worked for sold a ton, but the upper management could careless for good loyal workers. They rather get a new worker instead of trying to keep the good ones and pay them a little more to make them happy.

Funny thing as soon as Christmas ended my hours were slashed to from 40 hours a week to 0 hours a week. Only reason I still went in was because night supervisor would tell me to come in some days etc.

Unfortunately 'merit raises' were too often not based on any merit, but rather on favoritism. As far as WM stopping 'putting profits before people' - well good luck with that.

@bbg The raises Walmart gives are bread crumbs. No wonder people quit. We all understand the basics of supply and demand and how wages are determined by region and state. Having that being said....

Walmart has been discriminately forcing those out they decide make too much money. They hire at the lowest wages possible and that is still not enough to keep associates. Throw into the mix the way that PTO/PPTO is earned, barely getting enough hours to pay your bills because you can't be at Walmart's beck and call 24/7/365, not being able to get benefits because they you can't get the hours, blatant favoritism, expecting to do the work of 2-3 associates because of under-scheduling, etc...

No wonder people are quitting.

Walmart has become such a revolving door of new hires it's may as well be speed dating. If they went back to merit wages based on performance, actually respected the individual and provided a decent work environment and stopped treating their associates like an endless supply of cattle, more people would not only stay longer but even, possibly, make a career out of retail.

Until Walmart figures this out and stops putting profits before people, the endless sh!t show that is Walmart will continue. If the employees are taken care of, they in turn will take care of the customer and the profits will flow.

Also, I know many that quit and are doing Uber now and they are better paid, so they have to .
