Be aware the ball is rolling down hill for the asm position. The word is by March 1, no severance, I wish all of you that are left good luck.

There you have it, folks! Straight from the horse’s mouth! An RM has graciously descended from his mountain top and has said it like it is: keep sticking your head in the sand, and nothing can possibly go wrong! Don’t worry about business changing without BBB, everything will be juuuuuuuuust fine!
Customer service means nothing. Customer loyalty cannot be bought by someone giving good customer service. If that were true Walmart and Target would be out of business. It’s the low prices, customers don’t care about anything else. Stop the coupons and you’ll see just how loyal your customers are.
Lol customer service. Our prices aren’t competitive. Price is the motivating factor. All those old customers will be dying off and the younger crowd will be ordering online. Stick a fork in we’re done like Linens N Things.
Everything will be OK. Just keep giving our customers great service and they will be customers for life.
If any ASM has not been anticipating or wondering if their position could be eliminated at any moment, ESPECIALLY after being moved to expensive hourly, then you've had your head in the sand because this has been discussed and worried about since it happened. And just in general if you don't believe that BBB is just using you no matter what position you hold then you are also stuck in the sand. The heart of this company was destroyed a long time ago, just look at your bitter DMs and Regionals who have a rare kind word to say that isn't in some snarky way negative. Like for example, how many of you have heard something like this...'good job on your email captures, your store is usually in the bottom but wow all of a sudden you rocked it this week.' A positive but also a blow at the same time. They thrive on demoralizing everyone. Ask yourself this...do you want to wind up like this? That's a hard no for sure. Getting the boot out of BBB will be one of the best things that ever happens to you, trust me.
Making us slave away for inventory then kicking us to the curb
Blah blah blah. Asm’s will be getting no severance and losing there jobs.. I said this a year ago! Focus on your job not what the future holds. It’s simple go to bed bath and do your job! Or go find a new one.
I stick by the statement I made a year ago. ASMs will not be in any D, C, B volume stores. Only A, and A+ etc.
I say this as I have seen all of these stores lose ASMs and be replaced by Ops sup. One B vol that had 2 ASMs now have one and an Ops sup.
Time will tell but I do see any ASM in a low volume store being let go. Their core job responsibilities are dwindling, and honestly it would be better to just have that 45-50 hours go to associates on the floor or on the front end.
Our department supervisor was promoted to an asm within the last 4 months. So maybe some regions keep the asms and other are department supervisors. Only time will tell.
Got to believe in a strong comeback since the
Cancer leading the company is now almost all gone.
Most stores are well staffed with Dept sups, GIVEN there are some exceptions as always. More and more large stores are getting Operations sups. No one has been promoted to an ASM role in a very long time.
They need to look at regional and district staff before asms. Our district staff is useless.
As an ops manager. I spent little time in the office. I do more merchandising and moves than the side assistants .
Who knows what the real plan is, SM and OPs is going to have to get their butt out of the office and start running the stores like they should have been all along. If someone doesn’t want to work the plan then I’m sure you won’t be missed. How bad do you want to keep your job at Bed Bath and Beyond??
Your family and personal life means nothing, they already have people ready to go, remember some guys are going to be brought on board to get rid of a lot of you guys BECAUSE of your pay. I would suggest start making plans to move away from Bed Bath and Beyond. I wish all well.
Who is going to run the stores? We don’t have any department supervisors. They were all pip out.
