Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

ConocoPhillips is a great example of the Peter Principle. Change my mind.

More importantly, Permian.

Speaking of Peter’s Principle, did anyone else notice the sudden appearance of new Leadership Forum members this week? The increased the size of the LF by about 10%. This happens after they took away our merit and froze promotions for the masses. But not for 21+. This way they can eliminate LF roles for those wanting to leave with 3 years severance and spin it to say they reduced the size of our executive staff. Ever wonder how the LF stays about the same size despite all the reductions and dispositions? The L48 operates less than 20% of the wells compared to 5 years ago. How stupid do they think we are?

Look at all the peters running the Canadian BU. DH was the biggest example of the Peter Principle. Perfect example of worthlessness.

That’s why it’s the JV squad.

Sorry, I won’t be able to change your mind since I have similar observations.

Totally!

The Peter Principle is an observation that the tendency in most organizational hierarchies, such as that of a corporation, is for every employee to rise in the hierarchy through promotion until they reach a level of respective incompetence.
