DMET was created to take stress off of the AST Supervisor who were editing schedules on a daily basis. When DMET was created, AST was trimmed down and more tasks were added to the ASTS role.
The DMET program is one of the worst store level structure changes Macy’s has made in a long time. In practice it creates more work for stores to follow the DMET procedures.
I get their goal was to make it easier for AST and managers to modify and adjust schedules and to elevate their workload, but to completely cut off access at the store level is absolutely mo–nic. Even so stores are always over hours and having colleagues work unscheduled shifts and approving their "reliability notification." DOWN WITH DMET!
They should have the manager do it and eliminate DMET!they know how to waste money not save it!
Are you kidding?? They created DMET so they could eliminate store positions. . . if anything they'll expand upon it.
Actually DMET stands for District Managers (of) Editing Theschedule
DMET stands for District MyShop Execution Team. They are a group of individuals that sit in an office and come up with excuses for why you can’t change or modify a schedule. Really they are just a waste of payroll. Go back to letting sales managers make the schedule.
What is DMET ?
Why would anything happen to DMET? They do all the scheduling and edits. Unless that’s being returned to the stores (nope) then they will continue to have a place in the company. They do a lot of other things besides scheduling too.
Nearly all positions across the company are on hold until closing stores may be able to send people to fill them and cuts in the stores are finalized.
