No way “managers can go back to merchandising their own floors”...we have TWO managers and ONE supervisor in a 20 million door. With everything else they have to do, when do you think they can work this back into their day? That’s just dumb on your part to even think that’s possible.

Mckinsey & Company has worked with the company for many restructures in labor. They helped to execute the current loading dock procedures for unloading of trucks and processing. I believe the MTM position was created with this as well. With business trends changing in Brick and Mortar stores it makes sense to review and cut back on unnecessary positions and man hours. Possible restructure might go back to Managers merchandising their own floors. If business in store is really declining so will the merchandise. Before an MTM position, Managers processed their own stock and merchandised it. It worked.
As far as systems group...... you all have been walking over each other for years. Count that you are now under the microscope by the bean counters. Reduction is definitely needed and will be done.
Wouldn’t all of Macy’s Corp be working with McKinsey then? Doesn’t make sense for only sf office to be
Right. Downsizing then sold. Writing is on the wall
Where are you getting this information from?
SF Management is working with McKinsey & Consultants, which isn’t a good thing for us.
“McKinsey & Company provides strategy and management consulting services, such as providing advice on an acquisition, developing a plan to restructure a sales force, creating a new business strategy or providing advice on downsizing.”
Good luck to everyone.
