Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Fire the CEO and entire BOD

What have they done for we employees, shareholders, ... ? Nothing they are working for the banks and always have been. Time to give DL, ND, etc the Boeing treatment. No news this week or next or even until earnings. Everything just hype.Time to file a class action lawsuit to add to their long list of existing lawsuits. Aramco not working with Carlyle no one is working with CHK no one wants it.

Directions from Haineville to CHK - go north til you smell it and west until you step in it

Don't feel bad for DL. He's going to be OK. Should we all wonder if he's thinking about us with that same confidence?

I can agree with most of what you are saying but the one thing he didn’t do well is manage his direct reports and he overcompensated executives. He still isn’t. How is it that the same CFO is there that was there with AM. Does this not stick out like a sore thumb. Go look at what the EVP’s are making and the bonuses they received last year and tell me that makes sense. DL is sometimes loyal to a fault. He has done a good job with what he was given and particularly considering market collapse. I hope he moves on soon and does well for himself. However, If he gives the execs bonuses this year I hope even external Companies downgrade his stock...

You people are hilarious. Who at this point do you think would replace them?! You were lucky enough that you got DL in the first place, that company would have sank years ago. At least it appeared like you were putting up a fight. I’m guessing he believed two things before accepting the position; 1. The talent was better than it actually is. You can forgive him for this as Chesapeake has always had a self inflated ego. To be fair you were the best at destroying acreage and wasting money.

  1. The waste on that campus and around the country was much less than what it is. Also can be forgiven as your previous CEO did a fantastic job of hiding the facts to line his own pockets.

You all complain that he’s paid too much when you forget that he committed career s–c-de by going to CHK. He was one of the brightest up and coming sparks in the industry but will now be tarnished with CHK on his resume, like yourselves. The difference being that people away from Oklahoma and around the industry still recognize his talent and success at keeping the titanic afloat for as long as he did. Go speak to industry leaders around the country and ask their opinion on it. I guarantee it will be very different from yours. You have no idea how many times he has had job offers from MUCH bigger companies around the world in the past few years!!! It’s impossible to drive a car with no wheels.
