Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

A look into the future

Let’s say in a year or two, all trade wars are done, economy is doing great and the need for hauling freight is in high demand. Will UP and they’re current “tactics” be able to support customers needs? We all know they’re #1 priority right now is laying off and shutting down as many locations as they can, will that come back to hurt them? Will the lack of maintenance on cars and locos eventually catch up to them when they need to haul freight for a booming market? Will the closure of strategic locations turn out to be a bad decision? So many questions regarding the future of this company.

Who cares anymore, they will continue to keep picking all the meat off the bone , and when there is no more meat to pick they will start another phuucked up venture Like selling off smaller service units that they deem a pain in the a– or not profitable

They will bring the junk back online. Lease as many locomotives as they can. Start hiring at the big shops. They wont be able to get people so they will say we can't get people here and need to bring in contractors in the shut down locations. That way when it slows down they can lay off and keep the contractors.

They’ll be just fine. And you’ll have more time to beat that crack habit that’s got you paranoid.
