Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Upper Management Changes

Finally doing something right, or at least the right direction. They let go (but did not eliminate the position) of 6 key people for corporate, whom are either very overpaid, or too old fashioned for the “new” bed bath and beyond. It’s very interesting that they eliminated their Chief Merchandising Officer.

Sure I don’t understand all of their jobs but I’m happy it’s more upper management and not at the store level!

Correct...they need to go down another level in IT - especially the collaboration side of the house; Where a migration project - a year behind schedule and the wasting of money paying an incompetent consultant (that should have been fired a year ago - rumors of kickbacks etc ) and then promoting the overall manager of the project to director - you fail then get promoted

well, how about those that will still get bonus'. if you give out a bonus to people it should be a lousy gift card for (no more then) $100 instead of thousands of dollars to those who don't deserve it anyway to those executives, district managers, area managers, store managers and senior managers. at least the money would be kept in the company and the stores. there would be HUGE savings for the company.

They still have more executives to get rid of. They also need to stop letting the little guy go and and replacing with 3 people in India. Yea that was for you CTO/CIO Sanjeev you crook. Sending the jobs to your company in India to fatten your wallet while you do nothing to further the company.

I think that this CEO is going to be big on getting things done and transforming BBBY. I hope they find a way to keep small stores, or those who are struggling with profitability. Some stores are a total loss because they just don’t have the shoppers. Other stores just don’t have the right product or margin, or ADVERTISING. We saw a huge boost on black Friday and I think the reason for part of it was that Ad. If they come out with a plan to only refresh some stores this spring, we will Fail. All stores need it!!

The CEO is starting to put together his own team, no one at corporate is safe now!

Rumors abound from store closures to canning entire loss prevention. You need to do more there instead of less shrinkage is a big deal and it is 60% inside
