I don't understand why there are no age discrimination suits against Pepsi (at least not enough to make noise). This is a serious, no-sarcasm question. Why not? It's more than apparent that the company is catering millennials while kicking the boomers to the curb. Do the packages prevent lawsuits?

My many Dominique scared in front of me and three other employees not including my wife I was let go d because of my age,my wage and my pension. The others present were Sean, Colby and Joy. All employees still working after I was let got. This conversation happened in Troutdale Oregon in 2019 at a Pub that is popular for brew and food.
Maybe if we start calling the media they can expose it? It’s rampant! I am convinced my HR file is stamped with do not promote over 45!
Experienced this myself with my boss actually suggesting I start to look elsewhere. I had enough of this person's incompetence and found a much better role with a 10% raise and much better work/life balance. Heard senior leader actually say, why would we invest in this person (not me) as they are approaching 50. Rampant age discrimination and bias . I am just happy I am out on my terms.
The current MO seems to be pin older /expensive employees as “needs improvement” so they can’t transfer or apply for other positions. Create impossible situations that make employees look bad so they can be fired with “cause” or make it so miserable to make them quit, with no opportunity for severance or reasonable separation. The environment is hostile, no question about that.
It is Ageism pure and simple, by many examples, conversations, team demographics, etc. But they are experts at not getting caught.
That last comment needs clarification. Two weeks to find Internal candidates for the position then open to people outside the company if no internal candidates apply or not qualified. H1Bs are very difficult to sponsor directly by the company.
Agree....millennials want to “celebrate successes and failures” vs. actually getting sh*t done.
A good attorney could get around those clauses. Everything is negotiable, methinks.
As someone who was let go If you wanted severance you had to sign off and agree to no lawsuit. A year of severance or a lawsuit. It was easy for me to decide
the company could easily cut costs by offering voluntary buy out packages.
What about racial discrimination. All IT jobs are quickly removed from the job site so that it can go to Indians. It's 2 weeks to find a US candidate before pulling it down and saying no Americans were interested or qualified so they can get an H1B Visa in.
