This is not a rumor anymore. I just heard the same from an executive friend that is planning on retiring soon. They asked him to stick around until this next round of layoffs is complete in Q1. He did not yet know the total numbers targeted for this round or specific dates yet. It is wise to organize anything you want to take with you and start working with some headhunters.
Yeah so if you're offered one, take it and run.
