Layoffs were originally scheduled for Tuesday 12/10. I got wind that the news found out about the layoffs on Sunday, so MS had to scramble and start the layoffs on Monday. That's why your separation letter is dated 12/10. Now curious to find out who knew and leaked to the press. Nice work

Jelly of the month club strikes again.
The "Sunday news scramble" notion doesn't wash: Numbers of non-NP workers were called originally summoned to NP for Tuesday, which was then changed to Monday. That change happened on the Friday (6-Dec), so moving the day ahead did not result from anything that occurred on Sunday, news or otherwise. It had already become Monday.
Probably and HR rat.
They usually do layoffs on tuesdays, so this seems reasonable. I'm sure the person who leaked it will be included in the next round if they are still there.
