Other then the fact that the older folks are always first on the chopping block, I curious to know were there any specifics to the employees that got laid off recently? Could anyone tell at their location that a certain employee type was targeted more by layoffs more than the others?

They would have to remove a lot of their middle managers for their Agile Transformation to have a chance of working.
I was laid-off from the IT Infrastructure. I had been there a little over a year. I suspect that they kept the long-tenured techies because their systems are all home-grown, dated and geeky.
Interesting that I hear that Rooney's goal is to upgrade the IT areas. For example, he's been trying to push the Agile methodology to improve productivity. But there are much bigger fish to fry. The place has major technological, cultural and organization issues to deal with. Rooney would be best to start by replacing the senior and middle management who have no strategy, vision or IT commercial instincts. They're stuck in their 15+ year old bubble and in my view, lack the sophistication and desire to transform to a 21st century IT organization.
NYC was hit. Tech got hit hardest. I heard of analysts getting cut in both tech and ops
This getting paid the most get laid off first.
