I've heard from some people that it is over, but others keep saying we are far from done. It would be really nice to know who is right... Anybody here has some reliable info on what to expect today?
It's really heartless to do this to us so close to Christmas... I guess they really don't give a damn.

Shouldn't the management who put those folks in those functions and their managers get the axe.

Cuts happening in montreal now, although some were done yesterday. Big axes scheduled between 10-12.
It seems to be over in Purchase campus in Westchester, NY, the headquarter of Wealth Management home office and some back office functions for ISG.
A great deal of these cuts are efficiently driven. If the model changed over the last couple of years to be less reliant on people it's a required component of a successful business. So even if you are a valued employee, perhaps your job function relative to your cost doesn't work anymore. When cuts of this magnitude happen, there are always mistakes made on a case by case basis–it's part of the process, unfortunately.
I suspect most of the cuts are over now other than some stragglers. Usually this process is done rather swiftly for obvious reasons.
At least those that were selected are entering a strong job market which didn't exist the many of times this has happened before.
It is not over my co worker was asked to go home 30 minutes ago.
Looks like MS is falling apart and losing what made the firm special ...
