Halliburton is giving less to employees and taking more of your money.
Important Plan Change. Effective with the first purchase of 2020, employees will be provided a 10% discount. Historically, the ESPP has featured a 15% discount.

The idea that each year employees keep losing at least one small perk that we enjoy for being employees tells you we are, as a company, in trouble. Houston is devouring the perks of the blue collar workers like Pac-man in slow motion. While this last change affects others as well, it really does hurt my HALLIBURTON pride to see "uninvested" stock holders take precedence over us hard working "invested" types. Family is not family anymore. It's all about the green PC of paper.
Sold my espp back in 2015 when it was at 65 per share. Never re enrolled with it and am now glad I made that choice after watching cheerleading coworkers invest large sums into it over the years which has now become pennies. Rule of thumb I’ve learned is expect and do the opposite of what management claims or says.
this stock is barely above "junk" status....you have to have the discount...that's what youll be losing each year..
I thought the program was great. 15% minimum return; typically ~22%. I sold the first day I could to diversify away from the company I work for.
Still 10% off the lesser of two trade days is a sweet deal.
ESPP has been a loser for the past 4 years
Well, its funny, the ESPP plan has been a losing proposition the the last 3 years...You just can't make this kind of stuff up.
Just as long as the CEO makes a fortune then it'll all be good.
I would say at this point it's safer to take a small amount from each check and use it for bonds or CDs. I would not invest my hard earned money in company with declining stocks. The glory days of Halliburton are long gone.
Without employees pumping a percentage of their pay back into Halliburton - we will go belly up quicker than a Ponzi scheme.
Terrible blunder of upper management to do!!!
I for one will be changing my ESPP to 0%.
