So what's with the specialist layoffs in 2020
They could call it the store manager secretary—that’s basically what it is.
Lowe’s powers that be,simply do not have a clue.
ASA = administrative support associate
Administrative Support Associate (ASA), being replaced by a Staffing and Scheduling Administrator (SSA).
I still don’t know what a ASA STANDS FOR
At my store we posted for the ASA position. Looks like it never was filled as now we have a post for the SSA position.
As a current ASA,I view this as a blessing in disguise.I currently monitor and coordinate training, staffing, payroll, and some light scheduling for a store of over 115 associates and have felt many times that a pay increase was necessary for some of the functions which we are assigned to.If I have to compete with other candidates for a position which I already have Experience for and heavy home STORE advantage on,then so be it. Only ASA’s who weren’t properly doing their roles should be concerned in my opinion.
Every one who works at Lowe’s should be paid well, not just those in management and above. Specialist and CSAs should be paid well as well. Enough with robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Happened the same at my store too. ASA was p-ss-d they had to apply basically for their job and could possibly lose it.
As an ASA I have applied for the SSA position! The new job description includes very little more than what I already do and would be a pay increase if I were to be selected from the applicants. It’s about time the ASA’s are seen for what they bring to the table & are paid accordingly...That is if they are currently doing well in their position!
Looks like the return of the old Human Resources Coordinator, just as the ASA was a reprice of the Personnel and Training Coordinator.
Just read Lowe’s eliminated the “ASA” role and created the “SSA” role on Reddit too. Looks like they’ll dump more sh– on the ones who apply—getting them closer to ALL the actual functions HR’s used to do, but with MUCH lower pay (Specialist pay rather than the $50-60K salary old HR’s had). Another bait and switch.
What is an ASA? Or what was an ASA?
I cannot keep up with all of the coded job titles.
Ours sux and hopefully will be gone. But manger will probably think with his little head.
Heard from a trusted colleague confirming what the OP posted.
With all this change bringing distress to people's lives, am thinking Marvin is Loki in disguise.
Im OP. ASA CAN apply for the position and they have until the end of the month to make a decision. The new job replacing there job will be up sometime today. If they are not selected to the job they will be termed with a small pay or can be transferred to a different role. I wish I did not have to do this.
The a– at our store is still at work
Previous post stated ASA was going to be a new SSA position, and the person had to interview for that new job.
Is that how it went down in your store.
I have not heard anything on my store yet.
I just delivered the news to my ASA.
And you know this how
