I would bet we will be hiring within the next 2-3 months. Not because of an increase in work or more people quitting but simply another example of mismanagement and them being out of touch with reality. Pray for us that are having to endure the “Paine”.

Folks are laying people off and aren’t aware of what I would call legacy duties that some key employees did on the side. They didn’t toot their own horns so they went unnoticed. These folks are priceless and many are now gone and will never come back at any price.
It will become obvious they were more than a SAP number down the road
The show you saw this week is not a result of mismanagement on a local level, although it definitely has occurred, it’s a result of the suits in Houston. It would seem that they do not value the family situation. Apparently, they think that there’s an endless supply of qualified workers ready to hire on which is not the case. I personally witnessed Tuesday and Wednesday over 150 combined yrs experience to walk out the door. With more to come.We lost good people that we probably can’t replace.
Did anyone notice that HR and mgmt had lunch catered in everyday?
It’s almost a predicable rhythm of how time passes with this company. If you are a worthy employee, you can bank that the job will require transfers. If you are a settled person, wanting to put roots down where you presently live, it’s not the job for you. If you can handle moving every 4 years, on a short notice, you came to the right place.
So you want it to go down the toilet, people loosing there jobs, have to uproot the lives to transfer or me where I’m in limbo and don’t know where I’ll be at. Glad to see you wish that on people. Be careful of the seeds you sow because that’s what you will get.
Every single person was NOT offered a transfer. Some really good employees were given their walking papers.
Reno was poorly managed for many years. Glad to see if finally go down the toilet.
Oil could fall below $40 unless OPEC deepens cuts.
It's simply the first quarter of the game folks so do your best to remain focused. Work hard, mind your business & attempt to look as busy as possible. Sadly more cuts & closures are on the horizon. I've been around & experienced it more times than I care to remember. Once the dust settled & my friends were gone I felt like the sole survivor in a plane crash. Many of us who grew up in West Texas remember red & gray pickups lined the streets. Then almost overnight they were replaced by for sale signs in front yards. I remember thinking I'll never go to work for that outfit & yet I jumped at the chance like everyone else. I've been fortunate to work with some great people who left quite an impression. It's been a good ride while it lasted.
808 people were not laid off. Every single person there was offered a transfer to Duncan, or a package if they declined the transfer. They're helping sell homes and getting out of leases. If you transfer and rent they are paying 12k. I took the package, as I don't want to move. 11 weeks of pay for me and insurance is valid until the end of Feb.
The CEO needs to go! People with college degrees don’t compare to experience in the field.Anyone with knowledge is gone.So many bad decisions made financially. The Baker Hughes debacle sticks in my craw.Who approves a deal like that in the first place?Placing a guy from a dysfunctional field camp in Ft Smith over a so called super camp in Okla along with his Ft Smith mafia capos proved its value.
But all fingers point back at the CEO and the merry band of corporate id–ts.
Old Feller said it and explained what to do. What’s gone on for way too long is over-paid, disgruntled employees crying over pay then taking their piss poor attitude to location or burning co-workers to only be selfish.
If it’s so bad - leave.
If your here - create value.
If your laid off - reinvent yourself.
Solution
Step 1
808 on the other end of the pyramid would start to solve the money problem
Step 2
A true focus on customer service instead of lip service
Step 3
Take care of the employees and they will take care of you
Step 4
Realize you are a commodity and no amount of whistles, bells or new buzz words that the Customers don’t want to pay for win Customers
Step 5
Focus on Steps 2&3 to be the differentiator in the industry again
Repeat Step 1 as needed
Sorry been watching this freight train go out of control unchecked for years.
Many great folks have worked there and left for very logical reasons or were thrown of the train like the 808 just were
Most of us stayed with the company. Just transferring to Duncan. Source: am one that is transferring.
More mis-management by Halliburton 'leaders'. They've run off all the experience and know-how and have a bunch of millenials that are being groomed to take over and know absolutely nothing about the business. But I'll bet when they laid everyone off they were 'safe' when they did it!
Computors had little to nothing to do with El Reno going down the toilet. It was high prices for mediocre service at best, egotistical service people, the customers comes last, employees who had not been trained well and did not understand much about the work, could not drive their own trucks so they have a private firm do that for them combined with a rapid decline in business. And the competition has better trained and happier people willing to help the customer. Gee, what did you expect? And they had blown off some PSL's completely, no longer a full service company.
Computer automation and AI is eliminating people jobs every day.
