How are the faculty numbers sustainable?

96K students? I doubt it. Enrollment if any is glacial. Campus closures move forward. Advertising is sparse compared to recent years. My guess is its in the 70k range. There are now 5 students remaining at my close-out campus. I would be happy to know what the real numbers are.
And 6000 or so associate faculty. That’s how.
Sustainable because many adjuncts need the work, even at minimum pay, and are willing to put up with it for the $'s.
A while ago there was a comment on the board (not here) that, " .... we are working for minimum wage" — the reply from a well-educated woman was, " ... I'm a stay at home mom, no chance of any 'real work' so any pay is better than nothing."
