Wal-Mart just got rid of all the Field Managers. Looks like they need money for the 32 warehouses(28 not up and running), yet hired general managers for 32 of them. Gotta love the lies this company spews about creating jobs.

House of cards is a good way to explain it. Walmart will start to struggle. They may soon start going the way of K-MART. It may take some time, but you will soon start to see the nasty vacant buildings. When TARGET and AMAZON combine retail will definitely change . A TARGET, AMAZON marriage will be a retail powerhouse. The marriage would seem inevitable.
Feb 1, 2020 is when Greg Foran dances away from walmart. It is also when there is no more DM, CSM, most ASM, supports, and supervisors. Greg took a solid foundation and made it into a house of cards. April 1, 2020 is the completion of the "GREAT WORK PLACE". John Furner who replaced Greg closed 600 sams clubs and laid off 10000 sam's club people. Alot to look forward to in 2020.96
What is important about February 1 and April 1
My store has been open for almost 20 years and we have only had 1 full remodel. It was probably 10 years ago.
Does this mean walmart's expansion in the U S is over? What about store re-models? If walmart is at the apex then to follow would be store closings. Everything leading up to Feb 1 and April 1 is a big gamble. Walmart is burning its bridges behind them to stay on the road to no where.
Where's the loyalty? Cut out the "middle-people" to only turn around and promote/hire more directors within the store planning and construction realms. How many more chiefs are needed in Real Estate? Before you know, it'll be all directors and senior directors with no associates to manage. Honestly, the writing has been written on the wall for quite some time. It was just a matter of when. Hopefully these FMs built positive relations with the operators that could possibly lead to a position out in the stores.
Best of luck to all that have been affected. There's never a good time to displace associates especially around the holidays.
The cut all of the field management positions from store planning and construction. Pretty big deal considering there are 30+ of them. Think of your market manager, that level. ALL of them gone.
What field managers? The facilities maintenance?
I take it you're one of the FM that just got cut?
Who and what are field managers. I forgot to say Merry Christmas from Walmart. I wonder can you even say Merry Christmas at Walmart.
