Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Is this correct?

Walmart will most likely close at least 150 stores and Sam's club will close about 50 within the next 5 months. It all comes down to lack of increase in net profit and the newly hired employees lack of performance. They are trying to energize the employees yet customer satisfaction keeps sliding down and productivity being at an all time low. Walmart just cant survive the new workforce and online competition is taking away sales.

"Why would ANYONE work for Walmart in the current economy with better jobs literally everywhere you look??"

Because there aren't better jobs literally everywhere you look. There may be jobs, but they s— just as much, pay even less, and offer fewer if any benefits. Jobs are useless and worthless when they don't pay enough to live on, and sc-aping by in Walmart hell is better than taking 2 or 3 Walmart-tier jobs and not even making enough to sc-ape by.

I am a Walmart customer and spouse of a Walmart employee. I heard of Walmart going to a "customer first" mode awhile back. Not sure what customer they are going for. Longer lines because of automation instead of a human being to ring up your sale. Clothing that isn't even worth the price you pay for it. They no longer assemble a bike or furniture while you shop, you are lucky if you get it in a few days and better do a double check on it because the rent-a-assemblers work by the piece not by pride. Now you could write the Walmart Corporation. Even send it to Doug McMillon. You will be asked to contact the store - not them about your complaint. Walmart isn't for the customer. Walmart isn't for the employee. Walmart is for getting that last thin dime before they also go the way of the Blue Light Special a former popular store went. Customers need to wake up and start expecting more for their hard earned dollar.

Productivity at an all time low?? Gee I can't imagine why? Stolen sick time, cut PTO accruel rates, working all holidays for normal pay, raises that don't even meet inflation (otherwise known as pay CUTS). Why would ANYONE work for Walmart in the current economy with better jobs literally everywhere you look??

Sounds about right.

Merry Christm......er.....um.....Happy Black Friday Purchase Opening Day from the "Good Folks" in Bentonville! Thanks to your efforts the Walnuts just bought another yacht. It's their fourth and they love it.

Sorry about closing your store and/or eliminating your position and livelihood, but the Dairy Queen is probably hiring for third shift so it's all good.

Sincerely,

The B-Ville Bozo's. (Amazon has got their Bezos and we've got our Bozo's!)

If you prices are just average and your products are basic, the customer will go where it is most convenient and pleasant to shop.

That ain’t Walmart.

How can Walmart keep and motivate associates on such c-appy pay AND keep cutting hours AND keep the customers happy and coming back?

They can't. Customers only come back for the prices and even then, Walmart hardly has the lowest prices anymore.
