Bob rocks out with the roots while we stress about making next month’s mortgage payment
This post to Greenroom sure is encouraging "Learn How to Handle Workplace Change as an Employee"
The deadline report doesn’t make much sense with regards to jobs. After the split my department has gone through multiple layoffs. My showtime counterparts have gone through few if any. Now we are one company and the Viacom side is doing the work with far less people with many more networks. We probably could add the showtime channels to our workload without any additional heads. Those facts don’t add up without the loss of jobs.
don't know where the deadline writer got the idea that there will be no layoffs,. of course they haven't mentioned them specifically in the press but it makes total sense. i get the idea cbs hasn't had as many consultants go through and spur downsizing the way viacom has over last 3 years. there will still be losses at the old viacom side, but i think old cbs is in for some serious trimming to pay for nfl.
"...in part because the “synergies” targeted by ViacomCBS won’t involve letting go of thousands. Execs have said they will achieve $500 million in cost savings by 2021, a fraction of the numbers for other combining entities."

We all know it’s coming. Just a little surprised how little information we have for who, how and/or when.

“What is less known is exactly how management is expected to achieve all these goals, particularly on the cost-savings side. Management has been mum about the exact size of the potential layoffs, other than to confirm they are likely to begin sometime after the deal closes. The information vacuum has put many employees on edge, particularly as management is tasked with squeezing costs out of every department of the company in the coming year, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter.”

It's official now !
I guess 2k can just come from CBS and make both sides even.
Approximately 10k at VIACOM and 12k CBS
That seems like a lot — does anyone have an idea of the overall number of employees that currently exist at Viacom and CBS?
Happy Holidays!
