These people get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to manage head count and prevent this situation. Why is it always normal to accept that these executives get to choose who stays and who goes? Who will hold them accountable? What is the point of knowing it's a 3 year cyclical business for the last 50 years! Everytime there is an excuse about not anticipating this. It is a public limited company, these executives who are not able to manage headcount and deliver the numbers should be fired first by the shareholders.

You are an id–t.
They will never be held accountable because cummins in southern indiana has so much nepotism from the hourly to the exempt that the main reason is that it may be firing someones wife or husband that you have done dirt with aka semi-shady things to make your dept. look good or whatever. And in reality, alot of the exempt and a section of the hourly aren't smart enough to do their job and try to hide their inability which goes down to what I have tried to say that it's being used mostly to subsidize farmers and good ole boys who need a steady check.
