Was wondering if anybody had any information as to what's is to come with AP. As we all know the new structure is not working. Are they going to add some positions back, more cuts, who knows? Srapm here and I know the dapms just had a meeting.

Funny how everyone here talks about how AP is "more worried about if employees are doing what they should be than anything else," but the one thing employees could be doing but aren't that is proven to help theft is TALKING TO CUSTOMERS.
Most employees are hard workers, but boy do they hate providing customer service.
AP is not solely externally focused like they are at other retailers. Stores love to complain about how "nothing gets done" with the shoplifters. We could spend more time on the shoplifters if the DS's, ASM's, SM's would handle their day-to-day business without needing constant 'reminders'.
Morphing into Home Depot isn’t an exact science but Marvin will morph it !
Lowes will phase all AP out. Its all about red dots, and each shift doing cycle counts. If an item was there on shift one, then gone, they see if sold. Of not, rt to camera.
Thats gonna be new system. Constant IRP, cycle counting, downstocking and inventory of shelves.
Thats how they caught an employee here. They only watch employees. They dont care about customers. Hell, our management staff gives 90% off everything to anyone and everyone. Going on years and everyone knows it. No one cares.
When I see a shoplifter going out the door, I complement them on their ingenuity, and encourage them to apply for the open positions in Tool World.
A few of my friends stayed with the company in the new “AP” structure. They do the best they can with it, but know it’s a losing battle. Once the word got out that there was no constant presence in most stores, the theft blitz was on. Couple that with stores that are way understaffed, and it’s easy pickings for crooks. If Marvin was in it for the long haul, he might reverse course, but I think we all know he’s a short-timer that will be gone as soon as he cuts enough overhead to get the stock up to the desired price.
Our theft is over double what we had when we had an on site lp associate and were fully staffed. Stuff just walks out the door as we do stupid stuff like dust the boxes.
The amount of theft that occurs at our store is incredible. We have AP and they do not apprehend apparently. They use the eye in the sky more for spying on employees, looking for safety violations, and for investigations into what happened after thousands of dollars of merch was stolen. It seems as if AP is more worried about if employees are doing what they should be than anything else. It’s pretty odd. As a sidenote: I used to be AP with Target over 15 years ago. Back then we actually used to apprehend people, call the police, have their a55es hauled away. It seems as if asset protection today is nothing more than a glorified big brother with zero weight behind the badge.
