Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

VERTEX AEROSPACE formerly L3 Vertex in Madison Mississippi laid off 57

I wanted to let all of you know that Vertex Aerospace in Madison, MS walked 57 employees out the door Friday, January 10, 2020.

Vertex Aerospace was divested by L3 in June 2018 and bought by American Industrial Partners for around $540 million.

They have been eliminating many positions and restructuring as Vertex Aerospace struggles to win new business and continues to lose contracts.

Notable losses:

UAE
Customs and Border Patrol
TH57
C-12

Mysteriously unannounced:

T-34/T-44/T-6

Up for rebid this year:

T45

AIP was sold a bag of doo doo.

Crestview isn’t going well. It’s became very hostile and the work for the fab shops is still low.

Walked out 6 in Warner Robins.. 3 from tech pubs.. 6 left in tech pub.. no more cuts or wouldn’t have capability to bid new contracts! So what now? Are you getting rid of tech Pub... strictly Engineering your Goal as has been expected for years.. Discarded good talent in Warner Robins!

They were never going to get Customs and Border. They didn't even have the resources necessary to win that contract. GAO had to laugh when that protest came across their desks.

The human cost of senior managers and directors getting to cash that Christmas bonus check.

The cost modeling and forecasting for KC10 was based on faulty numbers that were from 2017. Rather than fess up to the government about their mistakes...they secretly try and dig themselves out of a $30 million dollar hole. I’m surprised some of them haven’t been charged criminally. All the experienced employees have jumped ship at this point. Funny they are still able to retain per diem employees that are flown in, placed in hotels, rental car etc...work 2-3 days a month every other month.

Supply Personnel Let go and shut down their FAA repair stations. Their management is all X military with no business experience. Senior material manager Mr. Miller should’ve been terminated for his miss management of millions of dollars of material thus losing the army support contract.
