VACATION

Any locations not picked vacation for 2020 yet? How about stopping morning stretching exercises? JLS is in the midst of this right now.

Initially centered, but as the years have passed, I’ve been able to throw it in forward and reverse with a heavy cough. I can’t really eexplain it further than that, I’m very fortunate

I always thought we did the stretches so that management could tell if we were injured before we started working. Kind of a win in my book.
Though I`m sure they will get that extra 10 minutes of production....

That can eliminate stretches but they can’t eliminate mas—ation. At the beginning of each shift just start tugging away, they can’t stop you, it’s a religious right and freedom. Stand up to these clowns people!

They started scheduling vacation in Juniata yesterday. We never start until after New Years but with combined shifts it took a little while longer to get it started. Eliminating stretches was just announced yesterday and is the first of many changes to come to the morning routine. The weight restriction was removed back in November.

your right they do care about injuries and lawsuits. that was part of the cut they made. it hit the bottom line and all they did was eliminate the cost to jobs. simple move for them. so you think that’s working? your just missing the big picture on how they pay millions out to lawsuits. keep drinking the cool aid and go back to sleep the downsizing will continue until they hit bone regardless any small minded thinking.

Maybe not caring, but they do care about injury lawsuits that cost them millions.

you all honestly think stretching was caring? what world do you live in. have you watch people stretch? they don’t even care and most just talk or strangely look off into space. why should they think you care if you can’t even perform a stretching correctly? welcome to reality. your asking an inanimate thing a company to care. we are the company look around what do you see ? looks mostly like union brothers to me . so tell me who is NS? and who doesn’t care? 90% of your world is union brothers and you are all complaining about the 10% or are you?

again what are you talking about? your looking at it all wrong. let me say it this way. take one (management) question to worker. so you didn’t know how much that weighs and you moved it by yourself anyway? answer (worker) well i thought i could move it. investigation complete. worker showed complete disregard to NS safety rules and is guilty as charged. recommend time off or deferred. Take 2 ( management) so you are reporting an injury? ( worker) yes is happened...... (management) ok but why did i see you ..... during stretches doing or not doing ....? investigation worker fails to report or is lying. recommend time off or deferred. now do you ge it! your safety is your responsibility not the company. now if you see something unsafe then report it. the company like any other company has realized they can’t baby proof your world so you must actively participate in safety now and not be a slug. time to work smarter don’t you think? we have lost enough. also this vacation thing is simply mismanagement don’t read into it as something.

I guess i wasn't clear. Until that one person just said they picked vacation the other day, no one at JLS has picked their vacation yet. Not sure why it hasn't been done yet. Also, up until yesterday, morning stretching exercises were conducted for several years. We were told it takes up 10 minutes of time that we could be working. Also, the 50 pound weight restriction has been taken away.

Exercises were done in Mechanical pre shift every day. Safety has never mattered in transportation, mechanical is now following suit.
