Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

This is our problem

The stores are very quiet. not too many customers (except returns). Not too many associates lurking about the floors. What's up with the columns, They are bare, I would never let them look like that, it shows no product... At least split the column into 2 or 3 items. Empty shelves I could understand, just fake them out. or put an old plan o gram there to make it look like something is going to happen.

This right here. It's like we are not even trying to make it seem like everything is okay to draw in more customers. No, it's like we want to make sure that those who do come in never return. A really sad state we are in right now...

There is another company that could do that and is looking to expand into the brick and mortar area... Wayfair. A while back, there was a grey area as to whether BBB would buy out Wayfair, what a turn around that occurred.

The ONLY merger or acquisition of bbb would be my Amazon. No other retailer would have a purpose to buy us.
Big lots- wrong customer
Kohl’s- they are in trouble too
JCP- going down
Macy’s- going down
Walmart- bbb isn’t “value” enough
Home depo- MAYBE- they have been going into home furnishings. But I can’t say I love the cooor orange for the bbb stores...
TJX- they already have too many home stores to acquire another.

I think bbb will turn around especially with the almost immediate fall of Pier One, Macy’s is rapidly closing stores this year, and same with JCP- Kohl’s is more high price then we are, and are struggling just as much (just with out the publicity).

Hmmmm: Just thinking, When the company gets down to so many stores, a possible merger with Target as satellite stores and then weed out more stores until they are all but a memory. That would also include Christmas Tree Shops and Buy Buy Baby. The Stocks would soar through the roof or bring down Target... Again, Just a thought.

What really gets me is the purchases that are done on line are what is being returned more then store bought. Then try to resell that item at a less cost because the vender doesn't want it back. Not much of a profit. Although, it does keep the money in the store. I feel like every store looks like they are going out of business having so many empty columns and shelves.
