I have noticed several people (4 in the past month) who have started to leave of their own accord. Maybe Schwab is hoping more will go so they won't need to lay off as many for "synergies". This has become a very unhappy place to work.

I know grade 60 was forced out a couple of months ago. They threatened him with being fired for a bad review, and he just voluntarily quit.
I wonder if it was really their own accord or a package? Did they have another job lined up? I know of someone who just gave a 2 week notice with no job lined up, which makes me wonder.
I was able to get a $28000 bonus, with $6,000 already advanced last year. Not the best, but not too shabby either.
I’m sure there’s a chilling effect from the layoffs and I assume bonuses will s—. I got laid off and I can just imagine how bad morale is at my former department which now has no wiggle room for vacations/illness. Naturally it was me, the 13 year employee and just turned 50 that got chopped first.
I left. Best decision I have ever made. Too bad a place that use to be a great place to work has brought in too much lousy management over the last few years.
