Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

Who else is tired of this?

Anybody? I honestly wish they told us already who was getting laid off - that would be preferable to constantly having to wait and stress and worry over what might (and might not) come. If there are going to be layoffs - just get it over with already! Please! I'm getting really tired of this c-ap...

Don't be scared. Cummins looks great on a resume. I left after 8 years last June. Got 30k raise. I couldn't handle another riff. Not every company is like this.

The only people that never get tired of this sht, is Tom and his staff. No matter what, they will be around, they do not give a rats a– who is let go as long as they get to keep their cushy jobs.

was there during the 2012/13 and 2015 layoffs. As with most things in CMI, they will wait till the last possible moment to notify employees. The best thing to do is to look around and interview for jobs and have an offer in hand by ~Feb/Mar.

If you don't get laid off, honestly leave the company anyway. The cyclical layoffs are honestly unhealthy and not worth your emotional drain.

If you do get laid off, then you get to leave the company but with an added comp package.

Just leave while you can and before even more people are out there looking for a job as a result of being let go. Cummins is not loyal to good employees, it has been proven for many years time after time when solid, high performing employees are let go and then later replaced with younger, cheaper and oftentimes visa holding employees. It is not a good company to make your career.

Been there too many times made to over 25 yrs and took the volunteer retirement package. I know it’s difficult and it’s not about people just bottom line. People are the most important resource but shareholders/investors always seem to win out. Good company benefits but tough place to retire

They like to keep the fear level amped up to the highest level. Figuring to get every last ounce of work effort out of you before firing you.

Cummins is such an unhealthy environment in which to work. Life is too short to give it to these rubes.

Expect major part of RIF to happen in US just before February 4th as that is earnings call date. This will allow them to explain to investors the actions taken and quantify any charges they will take versus bottom line. For Europe and other regions, it will come later as there are legal requirements for redundancy that prevent completion by Feb 4th.
