Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

This Company and Industry are dying slowly

This company and industry are dying slowly. If you are under 50 leave now while the economy is still booming. In 10-15 years electric automobiles will start becoming the norm. That will take away 30-40% of our need for oil. The 2020s are gonna be bad for this whole Industry and worse for us. I’m making my next plans you should too.

id–ts all.....+50% of oil/gas/coal is used for...wait for it....Power Plants! Where in the Fk do you think the electric cars are going to get their fuel from? Think about it. more the 30% of the petroleum products go to make your Costco plastic sht and Walley World happy stuff. Snap. The ramp up for the shale crazy phase is over... The majors are looking back to deep, deep offshore Gulf of Mexico ,for Billions....Billons of Gallons fields...And they haven't tapped into the Cretaceous layers yet.

Car probably consume 30% of the oil supply and that assuming everyone in this world switch to electric car over night .
The big chunk are flights, ship, rail and etc. Simmens build a electric ship and that's all. Don't think electric flight or ship will come out anytime soon.

Well quit flaring it off and come up with a solution. Oh I am asking the wrong service company for that.

We'll drill for natural gas as it'll be needed to make electricity.

It's a win-win for us.

If You had the money for a Tesla would you really want one that might have come from China? Just saying...

Forget about Europe China is going to begin a new emmision standard and start crushing gas cars. The only oil left will be for food, clothes, plastics, and other things in this line. That's only 30% of total oil demand today. Companies like tesla and space x are playing on a level that will crush even large companies.

There are many things the anti-fossil fuel folks overlook when they think oil is just for cars.
Try making a list of the necessities you need for a comfortable life and see how many are tied to oil or a by-product 2050 or not.
Start off with food, Plastic, asphalt, tires, clothes.........

2050 can be changed with a stroke of a pen or a dose of common sense.

How about Tesla breakdown in the middle of the desert or being on a major highway in rush hour waiting on a wreck.
Bring a winch/crane and a wrecker in some cases.
Infrastructure is not there in rural areas and probably won’t be.

Electric cars will only play a small part. If you are not emissions free by 2050 then good luck to you. If you don't agree then stop being lazy and read what the scientific community is saying. Look at government policies. Look at how many battery factories will be online in 2025. Look at the billion dollar fines for diesgate. The list only goes on.

I agree with you. Europe is planning to slowly convert to electric cars by 2035 and also to get out of the coal industry .Tesla has bought land near Berlin to build a new Mega factory in Germany. Any imbalance in the supply and consumption of oil will affect all the service companies. Halliburton has no Plan B. The boys in the board only care about how much money they can make now. Add to that incompetent managers and that spells doom for Halliburton. I am out and enjoying my new career.
