Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Seems to be a trash company

Simply google “xerox layoffs” and its years and years of layoffs. As if management never figured out how to create, develop and sell. And once again...layoffs of human beings. The company saves money by laying off the human beings who worked at the direction of a failing management once again. Perhaps the company should fold for the simple fact, they cannot figure out how to develop any longer. Xerox, you could have been the next Cisco if you would have listened to you American workers.

So it sounds like it’s just a sc-ap yard. Yeah, Icahn nor V has the brains to fix the company and make it successful. Proves over and over again of Corp greed. People, look out for your families. Icahn and V are certainly looking out for theirs.

They're not trying to figure out how to develop. They're looking for how to s— all of the money out of the company and keep it propped up enough to sell it to some s—er. The days of building and creating are gone. CEOs don't create jobs. They create wealth for themselves and their executive boards only while putting thousands - sometimes hundreds of thousands out of work and on the taxpayer dole.

East coast vs west coast - and there lies the problem.

There are another 190+ countries in the world.

Most of the head office employees at those two locations never met with a customer in their lifetime there, but for some reason thought they knew what they wanted, and you wonder why we are in a revenue decline.

Spent 35 years in El Segundo Mfg. Not sure of all the politics or reasons but there was always an East Coast vs West Coast mentality running through the company. Seems every other year we were being threatened with layoffs or closure by Mama Xerox..

Xerox was hurt by their total reliance on Mama Webster mentality and would not listen to their other affiliates.Case in point the closing of their top rated Manufacturing plant in El Segundo,Calif.Plant was known for it’s engineering development of printed wiring boards, high end printers, and optical
lasers.Mama Webster in their staid culture fought to stymie El Segundo at every turn.
A shinning beacon of development was extinguished by layoffs, outsourcing and senior management incompetence.Xerox West Coast prestige along with six thousand jobs went down the drain...

Restructuring is an Accounting term that is supposed to be a one time item. The fact that Xerox turned it into a yearly occurrence for the last decade shows how broken it truly is.

No misconception - decisions ultimately come from US employees (senior people advised by other lower levels) who don’t have a clue about being global.

Please allow me to correct a misconception. Xerox does not listen to its US employees. It does not listen to its European employees. And it does not listen to its employees anywhere else in the world. It does not listen to its employees in Webster, Palo Alto or the former GIS companies. It does not listen to ANY employees. Unless you are in the white tower you have no voice and you haven’t had one for a long time.

Last time I looked Xerox is a global company.

One of the reasons X has failed so well is because it listened to its American workers first and not thought globally like many other successful corporations have.

Let’s buy a large services company with predominantly US customers.

Let’s buy a “global” print sales company which only sells in North America.

That will turn us global.

It’s comedy gold!

Pretty much. Not a good company for at least a decade now. Lots of smart people spinning their wheels & being sidelined & frustrated with only a layoff to look forward to. Good time to leave for all those unhappy.
