40 hr guarantee only considered to totally eliminate the ability of hourly, field employees sand-bagging yard time in between one job a hitch and still getting 30-40 hrs overtime.

We have very little work in Aberdeen, our department has gone down from 18 to 5 and we have offshore engineers sitting at home for weeks and weeks with many only working afew days every 3 months its ridiculous.
We lost about 10 contracts last year alone with mistakes made by inexperienced personnel both on and offshore.
It's just a mess and all we seem to do is still pay off experience people and take on graduates or trainees to save money.

It must be company wide. Us RMD is not much better.

Baker Aberdeen is akaughing stock these days.
Some of there most experienced guys are 5 years in.
We have binned them from every contract we have in the north sea after constantly sending out a graduate with a trainee as 2nd man on well intervention jobs.
After about 20 total fxxk ups we went back to weatherford 2 years ago at least there guys come out with 10 to 20 years experience.
Not a degree in sports and 12 months in the office.
Place is the but of almost every joke we have if need a service company.

That’s probably because they know they don’t have enough hands or tools to cover the work.

Too little too late. Baker are in a tailspin. Their market share will continue to fall. Rumor has it that a number of major clients in US RMD are going to drop Baker in the New Year.

Same for US land. All our experience has gone. Nepotism was the criteria used for hiring and scheduling, but that only goes so far. Now we are paying the price. Our market share has disappeared and our competitors are staffed with solid experienced Baker trained hands.

Any good experienced offshore hand left this joke of a company years ago.
Now left with graduates and trainees it's a joke up in Aberdeen how little experience is left.
Ex bouncers and sacked Halliburton employees are all that's left in our office.

That’s coming. The company pension has been brought up more than once.

They want the the field hand to take the risk. If there’s no work for you it doesn’t cost them anything or very little. The next thing is to stop pension contributions and you make your own arrangements.

Have they ever brought anything back they have taken? Dream on!

They completely underestimated the reaction to the wage cuts and RMA forfeiture. All the experience has gone. I doubt that they will reinstate the 40 hour week, but if they do it is only because they can’t afford to lose anyone else.
