IBEW is full of corruption even for linemen & inside wiremen. also not a company buy labor hall for hire. Aka union scabs taking work away from local mom and pop shops. they start strong on a job then when nearing completion they slow or sabotage the worksite. most of the time the local community industry workers come in and fix the job anyway. the hall might give them a journeyman’s license but most don’t deserve it.

close but none of the class 1’s. i think they all fall short if you bring into worker satisfaction in general, obviously all companies have problems but largely the RR and the auto industry have huge gaps in worker satisfaction other industries have huge gaps in customer satisfaction like in the education and government jobs. the gaps is what is in my opinion a slow death. we need to rebrand the union way. the membership has been decreasing year over year because people are largely dissatisfied on what a union does or is perceived to be doing. active members are dissatisfied and are usually left with what am i getting for my dues. pay and benefits are being s—ed dry and in some halls the pension coffers are closing in on insolvent. this in my opinion is directly related to inactive active members. you know the ones that do everything they can to make the man pay. this will destroy a company and it’s membership as well. time to rebrand the union and see where we fit in with the modern company. this road is hard and less traveled but now is the time to put the craft back into craftsmanship. make it hard to subcontract to non-union craftsmen. an idle member is an easy one to replace.

If you mean by thriving is the company is making huge profits and they have a union , I would say all of the class 1 railroads .

slippery slope friend. bottom line earnings isn’t the only measure of thriving. worker satisfaction and costumer satisfaction play an equal or even greater roll. keep thinking NS isn’t thriving.

NS reported 3rd qtr. Net income of 657 million. If that ain't thriving it ain't bad!
