Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Chasing Downward

All PSR has really done is accelerate a trend that was already well under way at UP. A toxic c—tail of nepotism, incompetent leadership at every level, high turnover, below average pay for the hours spent on the job, and unions that do nothing for their members or the business at large all but guaranteed that UP would tilt into decline well before PSR came into the picture.

PSR is either a last-ditch attempt to reform and modernize the railroad to make it more sustainable and flexible (although I don't see how), or a strategy for pumping all of the value out of the railroad to the last drop before leaving it in a shambles. In practice it looks more like the latter.

If you can get out, get out. Things will only get worse for those who aren't compensated in company stock. Even if PSR reaches all of its goals and they get to g55, UP will still be a miserable place to work for most people.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May you all fare well in 2020.

People I work with are starting to not care about their jobs anymore this concerns me because.people who don’t care about whether or not they get fired aren’t as safe as those that do. After years of abuse I think a majority of co worker are starting to realize this outfit is just going to continue to become more toxic and unbearable.

@jra and @1dhz are the same person (one-liners, personal attacks, etc.) They show up on every thread that offers an informed critique of UP management and troll the posters without ever actually addressing the points they make. There's a good take-down of this professional troll on the G55 thread. Check it out.

@1dhz: "They" is gender-neutral. This is proper for the context because we don't know the gender of the OP.

The amount of UP management talking down to people on this site is hilarious. Hurry on back to Glassdoor ur boy lance dropped back down to 9% time for some more fake reviews.

@jra maybe you should try reading past whatever triggered you. If you think the OP is wrong then explain why. I think what they said sums up the rot at UP quite well.
