Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Dewalt gone in january

I just heard Home Depot is signing a deal with Dewalt that will keep LOWES from selling Dewalt tools.

My source says it will be effective January 1st

If true many pro customers will leave us and go to HD.

Lowes will not be carrying a “pro-quality”
Line of tools

Anyone else heard that?

Go to Lowes site and look up Dewalt cordless nailers, They don't exist, so I believe Lowes is losing Dewalt, they seem to be pushing Crapsman and Cobalt

One of the tool vendor reps told me over the summer that the main company making Kobalt power tools also make Chicago Electric for Harbor Freight.

Just heard from who? What is the source of this high level top secret information?

Unattributed information is the same as you making it up.

The real pros ask for Milwaukee tools. Lowe’s used to have them, but depot got the contract, I wouldn’t be shocked if lowe’s was selling hand crank drills in a few years.

If anything I would think it would be the other way around. Stanley Black & Decker is the parent company that in addition to their namesakes also owns the Craftsman, DeWalt, Porter Cable, Irwin and Lenox lines. Being that Lowe's carries all of these I would be astounded if Stanley Black & Decker would risk such a deal (especially after Lowe's invested heavily in the Craftsman line at the expense of the footprint allocated to their house Kobalt line). Guess time will tell.

That will certainly advance Marvin's plan to take pro customers away from HD.

Would not surprise me since the SMALL HANDS JOE FIASCO had the little DeWalt drill as its centerpiece. That left the executive clowns with egg on their face. They probably think the Craftsman line is a suitable replacement for Mr. Pro. Haha. Wrong.

Did the “little hands” comment cause the exit?
