Icahn doesn't care about getting his hands on HP. He cares about the short term gains he can get by consolidation and elimination of redundancy. He'll make his many millions, and then get out as soon as he can and let the combined company do what it can.
Icahn is using zerox as bait and could care less for about it or it's people. It has all been about getting his hands on HP. Think about it; financially zerox is chump change to him. It is however a back door in to a company 3 to 4 times in size that snubbed their nose at him in the past. It all about his narcissistic demeanor. This gutting form the inside out and window dressing with a junk 3D printer is to make a play. Positioning... He and his team have not done 1 think to make the company profitable other than hack out chunks and take up a game plan they are not delivering on. If he gets HP he will dump the rest of zerox in a heart beat. You are all pawns in his game.
