The fact is, Boeing is one of the largest aerospace companies, and they offered the highest pay and benefits for engineers. We all work for our families and it was just a job. I had been an engineer for over 45 years and was laid off more than 10 times, and worked for Boeing for almost 10 years including direct and contract. It provided a big chunk toward my retirement. Trust me. Grass was always greener on the other side. I have worked in worst companies, McD was one of them.

You are in a team. You are not going to be standout. Just do what you are told and you will be fine.

People who do the "wrong" thing (or feel others around them are doing the wrong
To the commenter below
It's not as if anybody working at Boeing is selling their soul to Boeing.
Their just renting their soul out for awhile.
No one understands it until their in the company for the first time.
When you work for Boeing, Boeing owns you, that’s the contract’s you sign,
When you Start work for Boeing. They make it very clear you belong to them.
Everything you do everything you say everything you think belongs to Boeing.
On your first day your head is spinning you sign so many documents.
it’s like buying a house, it then goes on like that for the next nine working days.

I mean, if you really feel so "dirty" working at Boeing, and you only wish to merely "survive" and yet you continue to work there, it seems for all the complaints, you are no better than those you complain about.

People who do the "wrong" thing (or feel others around them are doing the wrong thing, it was your demons comment that got me) and you continue to work along side those people for a company that makes you feel "dirty" for a paycheck (read: profit), you are no better than those putting profit above safety.

If you are an engineer, you have skills, there are many other places you could work, but you choose money over conscience.

Good luck to you, I could not do it. I need to work for a place that I feel good about.

I survive Boeing by taking a shower every night. Now there those days that
That’s Twice on a Weekday, once when I get home and again before bed.
For every 50 angles at Boeing, there’s a demon and not all are managers.
Some are just plain Old misanthropes, while others use belligerence to hide
Incompetence, with the all-knowing and brilliant being modest and peaceful.
I will be so thankful if I can survive to retirement, every day I count one off.
Welcome to Boeing, the brochures just don’t due the company Justice.

LOL Yeah, misery loves company; my coworkers are the best.
Once your mind is numb and your sole has been crushed you become
A machine and that’s what Boeing wants and needs. Welcome to the Machine.
Working for Boeing provides the best for my family, they matter the most.
Often when I leave work I wish I was d**d but then I get home to my kids
And life is wonderful. This is life for many of us, we accept it for family.
Life is long Hell is short. Outsiders don’t get it, the people we work with do.
But then most Outsiders didn’t spend their lives working towards degrees

Than the general population while female physicians are at 8 times the risk.
So in that context Boeing is looking good - LOL

To the two commenters below. That sounds horrible...leaves me with only one question?

Than why do you work there?

To the commenter below, I just checked in to see what’s new - and
(OMG) how on point you are.
I had a manager tell me I was to honest when dealing with other groups.
They would ask questions I would answer honestly. That is bad at Boeing

Never ever mention an innovative idea or alternative to better production.
You will be chastised, berated, belittled then someone higher up will
Present the idea and take credit for it.
Keep your mouth shut and your head down, speak only when spoken to.
Then just answer the questions. Do Not elaborate.
After you’ve been here ten years, then you may be considered human.

Pretty sure the negativity comes from working for Boeing. Never tried it? Well, here is what is in store for you: being "managed" when it is not due, becoming a literal YES man and kicking the problem can down the street, and working in a culture that stifles creativity, honesty, engineering, and good will. This place is terrible, and for that, I'm sure some want to see it fall.

If you have not noticed, stock prices are the most important thing in the world. If laying off people helps short term profits and stock prices then the answer is obvious. Boeing joined the race of stock prices long time ago.
