Have you heard anything about potential Allstate Layoffs 2020? Any news or rumors?

For the people that are saying this isnt real think again. They moved my daughter to a whole new state last year and now her two roommates have just been handed the assessment test to be done by tomorrow. No one in that company is safe. My daughter is waiting on notification if she will need to do the assessment but everyone of her friends that moved from Cali to AZ that are not in claims anymore has been issued the test.
Yes, Allstate is in the process of countrywide layoffs in spite of having acquired National General for $9B. It’s a company that does not value human resources so if you work for National General your should be concerned about your job.
Two laid off on my team today in NW. all field staff being assessed. Glen Shapiro is driving Allstate into the ground the same way he drove Libery Mutual into the ground. Allstate has turned their back on American workers. So many jobs being shipped to India. Very disappointed. Transformative growth. Shapiro makes four million a year and Allstate made over a billion the last Three quarters. How they think they are going to “grow” is just stupid. Claims service will equal less customers.
Official word came
Today. 1st round of
Layoffs given with 60 days notices issued today. Phone call with over 7700 people announced that they will be given assessments and their job will potentially be cut with no real
Info . No idea if it’s a few lay offs few hundred few thousand. My guess would
Be a combination of more
Jobs moved overseas and more
Job outsourced. Allstate once again shows it has no loyalty to its actual US based employees
Latest update for Infrastructure is that all layoffs will be done by the end of the year, they are going to squeeze every ounce of work out of people
I work for National General. Absolutely, a wonderful company to work for! Now that Allstate has announced they are aquiring everyone is fearful of losing their jobs and based on all the info online regarding the way Allstate operates I can understand why. It's unfortunate. Hoping for a good outcome.
No layoffs ? Look who’s a troll, lol. What paper bag are you in, brown noser ?
A lot of BS here. I work in NJ and there has not been one person laid off. Please stop trolling people this is stressful enough for us.
Our whole department was notified last week we are no longer needed.
I have heard that 24 people in NJ were laid off last week- mostly on the operations side and more are to follow soon.
The statement about not using vendors has turned out to be a myth. Email went out today that they are testing using vendors for taking claims from Spanish callers. The first in a series of upcoming cuts to claims.
Such a different company I worked for years ago - they harassed me once I hit 55 so badly that i had no choice but to retire a few years ago after 40 years of service and winning 5 chairman awards! The RVP was a complete a– and the regional sales manager was loud, obnoxious and couldn’t manage his way out of a paper bag!
What department are you in?
Yes, I got laid off
Allstate is acquiring National General Insurance. This should be interesting.
In response to not hearing anything about jobs being moved overseas, talk to ex Processing, Total Loss, and MOI employees. You think they’re gonna tell you that upfront? Give me a break. They don’t give two flying farts about their employees or policy holders. If a job can be done from India, you can bet the farm that’s where those jobs are going.
Fake "Transparency." The call this week was clearly scripted which was evident during the Q&A before the end of the call. Over the next year, All Esurance and Encompass employees will officially become Allstate employees serving either Allstate, Encompass and Esurance policies. That along with realignment of regions, Telecommutimg due to covid, and YES,. Photo Claim and IT call centers in India = massive layoffs across the board, except for Tom Wilson, Glen Shapiro and other elitists. And to add insult to injury they may force employees to retest and apply for their positions. It is a terrible work environment with evaporating morale.
I heard nothing about jobs going overseas in that call. In fact, I heard Tom say we would stop using vendors and replace them with Allstate employees to open up more job opportunities in some areas that those who were impacted could apply for. Did I miss something?
Did anyone notice that Tom kept referring to these cuts being due to Transformative Growth? Makes me wonder if he keeps saying this so those getting laid off will NOT get the extra COVID unemployment. That extra is $600/month. The unemployment office will verify with the employer if the layoff is COVID related or not. I bet Allstate won't agree to that! This place is so c-appy. Glad I quit my job recently and went to Allstate....NOT.
Echoing what others have said, Allstate announced that layoffs are imminent across the board at all levels. This comes with Allstate and Esurance combining the brands into one.
Sounds like across the board to me.
Today in townhall call, it was announced a massive layoff starting next month. Most likely a lot of jobs would be shipping oversees: India, Philippines, etc
Yes, very vague announcement by Mr. Wilson today. In his introductory comments- it sounded like mainly auto people and HO people. But in a follow-up question, he implied property adjuster's as well. Going to be very scary time at Allstate.
Very vague announcement from
Tom Wilson that 1000s will be laid off in coming weeks. No one really knows what is going on and there is very little clarity or guidance. Scary
Rumor going around today that 500 no -exempt people were let go without any package. This is across the company not in any one specific location
Hello, I work for the Provider Payment service team in Largo Florida . As of April 2020 all Roadside operations and provider claims will be handled by India as well as a new location in Columbia. This is not a rumor as we have received official communication and management has offered transition assistance to other potions within the company.mt site will be losing nearly 100 jobs. Allstate has turned its back on American workers.
Allstate was never a mutual company. Get it right.
I work HO. Processors in all business areas will be allowed to take another job so no severance but it will be across the country.
Otherwise GENPACT here comes more work!
For those of you in field I feel bad honestly and plan to find new line work. This company is run only based on bean counters and customers and employees are being c-apped on. Hopefully Consumer orgs will catch up with awful claims handling and a whistleblowing wouldn’t hurt.
And for those of us who have worked many years but didn’t hire in out of high school and retire when Allshit was a mutual company hang in. The tide will turn. Attrition at all time high but not with tenured staff like HR wants but with new staff! Love it!
Where in Product Technology? I haven’t heard anything?
PT?
We got some layoffs in HO this week.
PT and some other areas.
If Glen or Ken can make money your sh–e. Turnover in my claims mco is incredible but I love they train people then leave for companies that treat people like humans.
Processing and admin functions are being outsourced to India and plan is in place to eliminate all positions and have them telecommunicate. HO employee here not rumor.
Which application?
There is a small group being let go in January in IT Prod Ops. Work going to Allstate Northern Ireland.
If you’re looking for rumors, you’ll get plenty on this site.
