Thread regarding Dean Foods Co. layoffs

4.5 million? Really?

Getting tired of seeing keep up the good work emails from the guy who got a $4,500,000 bonus 4 days prior to the bankruptcy filing. If there is so much gratitude how about sharing that with the 15,000 employees making it possible? Could give each employee $200 and still have 1.5 mil left. Idk, I could sure use a couple hundred bucks...this is getting old real quick...

I can remember when that One Dean Team sh– got rolled out. VP came in and gave big rah rah speech. "Do what's best for the Company, not your location". Plant manager took it serious and gave up some production that was causing us problems to a nearby plant. Nearby plant was under a different VP. Cursing and threats that plant manager endured by giving up production to a plant under a different VP would have made a Teamster blush. One Dean Team = every man for himself.

I have worked for milk processing plant for 19 years. I work in management and I can tell you it will be ok. Once they shed all the debt we have almost 1 billion dollars we will be in a lot better shape. They have made a lot of mistakes over the years such as the dumbest by far letting white wave go. The past is the past we will be stronger moving forward.

Worst run company I’ve ever worked for. The top exec gets a bonus if the company prospers...or s—s a–. While the common worker gets screwed. Thanks for selling off White Wave way back when...smart move. id–ts.

I laughed at the one with all the signatures. It's painfully obvious they're just trying to keep people working and positive so they don't have to struggle to fill in the gaps of people jumping ship. It's also pretty pandering and insulting, but not surprising.

I have no problem on who makes how much. Also remember it is up to the board of directors that set his pay. Go cry to the board. Now how many humans think they can do his job? Also what is your time worth, he is on call 24/7. You have a hard time staying past 8 hours.

The days when bonuses for execs were based mostly on financial performance and in really good years a very small percentage of that might trickle down to the people who did the work that made that performance happen are long gone. Rich execs now expect bigger then normal bonuses to not jump ship during the bad times. Makes no damned sense, but they get away with it so its become the new normal. And then they jump to another high paying job anyway.
