I hear the EHS group is having offsite meetings. This happens every time departments are looking at their internal people and deciding who stays and who goes. They don’t want to risk others overhearing the meetings.
I will be taking bets on the day this actually occurs. I am claiming the last week in January and the first week in February. Everything else is open for taking. May the odds forever be in your favor.

Heard that somewhere around 15 were let go today, the bulk being EHS. Not sure how accurate it is though.

That date didn’t happen. When it happens - it happens. This fortune telling is ridiculous.

Layoffs are this Tuesday. Your last official day is November 1, the beginning of the 60 day notice. Severance expenses all get booked into this last quarter that way. Watch for the black SUVs and men in black. The email comes at 8:45 am that day. “Mandatory meeting at 9:00AM in the conference room...”. Get anything out of your office tomorrow discreetly that you don’t want someone else to pack. And know that you’ll be just fine. No more circling the toxic drain...
If there is a lay-off it would happen in November. If not in November, don’t expect a lay-off no earlier than March. Giving odds, 3-1.

Where can I buy a ticket? Maybe I will get lucky and get a severance.
Layoffs? How do you know they are not meeting to discuss changing the way the letters are arranged! HSER; EHSR; SHRE; HERS; RHES. Just think of all of the possibilities. That rearranging in Q1 was so effective, imagine where we could be as an organization by changing it again. That move is also job justification or in this case job creation. HR has to change titles in the system, every controlled document has to be changed, presentation templates altered, business cards have to be reordered, etc. That decision must have come straight out of a Harvard Business Review article for people placed in jobs they are not qualified for.
Spreading toxic environment? Is informing the general populous of what is going on now referred to as spreading a toxic environment? If so then I guess I would speak to the board about removing “transparency” from the core value list.
Also you might want to alter the way you type , because you might as well have said I am a female residing on the first floor instead of tired of it.

Your posting is during work hours, so I hope that you are not an employee bent on spreading a toxic environment within the organization. Especially during such time you should be hired to the job you were assigned to do and bring value to the share holders!
