Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

6 months of paid vacation

I'm retiring anyway so I told my store manager to make sure I'm one of the specialists to be let go this month. I figure why not get paid for doing nothing, unemployment here I come. Curious if anyone else is doing same.

I wouldn't mind 6 months paid off, I can easily find another job when unemployment runs out. What specialty positions are being cut? I've been a plumbing specialist for the past 10 years.

Marvin created the proverbial Monster Dumpster Fire on the employees. Long time coming.

Wage labor is exploitation by definition. My only job is to be a good little useful id–t you mean. Enough of this bootstraps logic.

They'll fire you for some other cause and sent you unemployment. Management likes to brag that they always challenge and always win. Great plan moran, have fun pulling from your 401K early just so you can make your rent.

  • lmao rent. One of my former Lowe’s appliance specialist friends owns 18 rental units she bought while working at Lowe’s. That last housing crash gave her a windfall at the foreclosure offices. She pays about $2800 a month total on the mortgages and makes around $19300 a month on the rents. Her managers had always treated her good because she could sell and pull appliances. She’s only 5’3” and about 120lbs. Was top salesperson in her region. When they started demanding she laughed and quit. Your only responsibility is to create and prepare your own future. If you can’t do that, it’s on you.

Sorry folks I didn't realize you thought 100% of firings are for legitimate causes. It's not like they can go into Kronos and change the grace period, take their red box screenshots and write you up for their changes retroactively. Or any one of an endless list of BS they can pull out of their a– when they feel like it.

I don't think they are cutting specialist anytime soon. They still want the sales regardless on how thin they want staffing..

Lol they're not close to being able to cut specialists. They are working on the technology to do so. Obviously it is only a matter of time. Stop posting b—s— as people already have enough to deal with.

I would do it to save someone else's job. I'm gone at the end of November.

Calling out Black Friday.

Retirement, here I come.
