Jump the ship is sinking
You still have to get through 2020. UP's plan are to reduce the workforce to reach their operational goals. I don't think so.
You forgot to remove your ear protection
It's quiet because there isn't anybody left to make noise.
Other than reports that they are laying off 60 electricians in Little Rock, 35+ carmen in Kansas City, closing the Neff yard in Kansas City and who knows what else.
People continue to quietly leave the worst company in America. The only sound at UP headquarters is a sad trombone.
If you call five work-related fatalities in the past year, multiple derailments, yards/shops closing across the system, and dozens to hundreds of people losing their jobs quiet, then sure, UP is quiet.
Don’t worry it’s coming.
Maybe the calm before the storm!
