We just sent you our boy, Johnny Furner as your new Walmart U.S. CEO. If his work at Sam's is any indication of his intent, then anybody with a tenure of more than about 3 weeks had better start looking for other work. His entire focus at Sam's was making sure that there was never enough help in the club and making sure that the help that was there had not yet been there long enough to have a week of PTO saved up.

Furner and his team has all but destroyed Sam's Club. All his changes are not working. Our club never has enough help. Block scheduling is awful. The front end is a mess, cart runners cannot keep up with carts, even on days that are are busy. Floor partners? What is that? We never seem to be able to find one to help. Restrooms and the club are filthy, not to mention the break room, nasty. Good luck Walmart employees, you are in for a wild ride.
Furner is friends with DM. Both seem to be able to run the company into the ground with no consequences.
Hasn’t the strategy for the last four or so years been to harvest the stores to pay for Lores failed dotcom strategy? Yeah. How’s that working out? I’d be willing to bet that the only thing driving dotcom sales is OGP and that the actual website sales still s—.
In ten years there will be b school articles written about DMs failures. They’ll say he irreparably harmed the core of Walmart’s business (the US stores) to fund a sausage measuring contest with Bezos.
But there is a point where you can cut too much... Pretty soon there won't be enough people left to run a store, and stores might have to close due to lack of available personnel because you cut too many people. <<<
Sounds a lot like Sam's Club alright. Didn't they close about 10% of them about a year or so ago? Supposedly they were going to turn the closed clubs into distribution centers. Anybody seen a converted Sam's Club? Me neither.
You ought to check out the Sam's Club area of this website and see what they think of the company Mr. Furner created. Then check out Costco's area. Maybe we should all be working for Costco.
