I am hearing rumors that the Corporate HQ is relocating...
Any truth in this?

They just said on the town hall that decision making will happen more at the local level and less by people in Omaha, OR WHEREVER HEADQUARTERS IS.
I have heard this from drive-by, unsubstantiated postings on thelayoff.com and literally nowhere else.
They could move somewhere worse than Omaha, like Houston - rain, floods, hurricanes, petrochemicals, terrible heat and humidity, bugs, snakes, slums, and horrid traffic. They get more rain than Seattle, just concentrated in routine monsoons. Yuck.
I can't see see Nebraska voters supporting a candidate like Lance who is the public face of UPRR layoffs and all the bad side effects that go with them.
Also, Lance isn't a Republican (what he actually may be is anyone's guess), so he stands little chance of getting elected to anything there. It would be fun to watch him try though, talking out of both sides of his mouth with his courage to care BS and crocodile tears in a primary or a general election.
Im a republican, but of lance runs as one ill vote for bob devaney
If there is an (R) next to his name he'll get elected in Nebraska.
UP has been looking at the Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston areas.
Fritz is nuts to think he can take any significant political office in Nebraska. He's wacked so many jobs there that he's p-ss-d off those he let go, not to mention you have the downstream effects of those layoffs...the people that sold those folks goods and services, their friends, school teachers, etc...
He has not made friends of many Nebraska voters I'm sure
Whoever is blowing smoke up his a– about his political aspirations must be the same one blowing PSR smoke up his a–...
UP should relocate to a place where people actually want to live. Nobody wants to live in Nebraska unless they have no other choice or they're from there.
The cost of relocating HQ will be significant, and there aren't many locations that make sense. Denver? Dallas/Ft Worth? Where would they go?
@ouu: All he has to run on is his record as UP CEO. I don't see how that will get him elected in Nebraska, or anywhere else that UP currently operates.
Yes, UP relocating to Houston.
Ben Sasse is like 42 or so, so good luck waiting 40 years until he retires
No. Lance wants run for office in Nebraska. Unfortunately we are stuck with him until Deb Fischer or Ben Sasse retire or leave office.
