Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

CHK employees

To those of you who are hard-working and thankful for your jobs, I would like to say thank you. Ignore the noise on this board. The comments are mostly from disgruntled employees and shareholders. If the disgruntled employees don’t like their job, then ask them why they still work there? As for the other posts on company strategy, it’s obvious whoever is posting those doesn’t have a clue. Go back and look through old post and see how many of them were actually accurate. Very few, if any.

If management was honest and transparent you would have thousands of views on these posts.

But you totally ignore how much fat still exists at CHK. 3-4 layers in most departments. Will not work in this business environment. Take a look at Whiting, Pioneer, Continental, Devon. Very flat with almost no VP's or directors. Most independents have gone to this model and have transformed to pure play companies. CHK has not.

I assure you, most of the people who read this site are hardworking. We are the ones most concerned about our jobs, the lazy ones are too lazy to even care. And maybe we don’t get much info from here, but the info we get is still much more than the company is willing to give us.

Thank you for posting words of encouragement to the employees. Clearly the morale is low, it may be just me, but seeing the company do better and actually feel like it has turned around would do wonders to help everyone stay motivated. Same goes for investors, the stock price has tanked, they clearly aren't motivated by the current state of affairs either. Lets concentrate on addressing the pressing issues instead of giving pep talks to anonymous people on the internet.
