Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

At Union Pacific, all that matters is the direct deposit on the 10th and the 25th, and as agreement your pay is guaranteed for 5 days!

I once worked at a company that couldn’t make payroll. “We can’t pay today (Friday), but we should be able to by next Tuesday.” That s—ed......and I found something new.

when i was at UP i remember people saying: "I ain't ever had a paycheck bounce." Where exactly have you worked where you have had a paycheck bounce. I've had all kinds of jobs, and I've never had a paycheck bounce. Maybe some of these people only sold crack before working for UP I don't know.

There are plenty of other jobs that will provide an equal or better paycheck on the 10th and 25th of each month without calling you in the middle of the night on a Sunday or holiday, telling you to drive to a pile of dirt in the middle of nowhere with no notice, and (for non-agreement) for no extra pay.

What comes on the 10th and 25th isn't enough for what UP asks of their employees.

As I've said. I get excellent service from my local Dollar store manager and I believe she was educated at a local community college. Perhaps ,just maybe, thinking...... A good railroad executive candidate?

I agree somewhat. I am proud to work for a class 1 however I highly recommend persons seaking long term satisfying employment go elsewhere

Believing that your job/income is safe and secure is very important for those of us that aren't blessed with unlimited resources, in other words, if you are not already financially secure, do not seek employment here!
