I don’t know about you guys but the store experience here is awful and it’s not the associates fault. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done.
The store looks like a bomb went off and sprayed merchandise every which direction. Store standards out the window.
The associates look like zombies...just numb to everything and about one complaint away from snapping on a customer.

Store standards only exist in one best way. There’s not enough labor hours for them to exist in actual stores.

Kroger is the same way - cut, cut, cut and then implement more policies and procedures that require more hours and hands but cut both hours and hands.. I think though Kroger’s brains who lead the company to the newest round of fail - recognize the fail..and why..
Those barriers at the front of the WMT stores are a nuisance. They want you to be pressured in buying more stuff and junk. I end up buying more unnecessary items overtime. Since they eliminated the "Savings Catcher" program, people ended up shopping elsewhere with better customer service systems.
Welcome to the "new" retail! It's this way across the board at most if not all retail places. Hours and staffing cut across the board at almost any store you go into now. Every company publicly says they aren't worried about Amazon, and yet clearly they are. Wal-mart, Target, Cvs, Walgreens, etc. Working conditions at these places have gone WAY downhill over the last few years, and store conditions at these places aren't much better. Companies view payroll as an unnecessary expense, and until this changes, nothing will change.
Associates don’t have time to keep up these giant supercenters. The more hours are cut, the worse the stores will look.
Yes, Walmart already is the new K Mart. Been that way, I'd say, for 2-3 yrs now. I call it the 1998 K Mart—cuz that was about the time they changed their name to 'Big K' ( as if that really was gonna help or change anything ).
The store I shop at has loss issues so bad they've installed crash barier / swinging gates you have to go through and be shook down by greeters in order to leave. It looks like 1950 Berlin. What's such bullsh!t about it is, the actual thieves find other ways to steal ...and meanwhile, that practice is PISSING OFF their most valuable customer base—the middle classers, who're are already sick to death of a LOT of what's going wrong in modern society.
Between all that, the ridiculously high prices, and STILL lack of available merch.........yeah. Walmart is circling the drain fast.

The Home Office has blinders on and all they see is Amazon far out in front of the retail race. Every waking moment and decision is based on catching Amazon. It'll never happen so the HO will continue making worse and worse business decisions. Walmart needs to decide real quick if being in 2nd or 3rd place in retail is acceptable before Walmart becomes the new Kmart.
