Thread regarding Nestle layoffs

*IMPORTANT*

Just recieved the severance package in the mail.

Whatever you do, DO NOT sign the release form earlier than TEN days prior to your termination date. Your severance will be voided.
For some of us its a good chunk of change so READ EVERYTHING.
I know there will be some people that’ll sign early thinking they’ll get severance early.
Sign early-get nothing.

Nice loophole- thanks lawyers...

This makes no sense. We were instructed to sign no later than 10 days before our LDW. Now you’re saying if we do that then we won’t get anything? I wanted to sign it a little early to make sure they had it before that 10 day cutoff for fear of signing it last minute and then not getting it until 5 or so days of my LDW. Can you show us where it says if you sign before the 10 day cutoff we get nothing?

There is a law that states if your over 40 they have to give you 45 days to look over(and get legal advice if needed) So I guess they want to give everybody 45 days. If you sign early it looks like they didnt give you proper time.
