Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

You heard it here first, and accurately.

I wont state what managerial position I hold, but I am now actively seeking work outside of Lowes and ready to leave a company where I invested 18 years of my life to.

The final straw was when the corporate execs all told us that employees are all targeted, and especially those who worked for Lowes, and not Home Depot. I have one AEP - Area Pro Manager - outperforming nearly everyone, who is targeted for his accomplishments, not rewarded/. When Joe and company found out he wasnt from Home Depot, he has been targeted despite his excellent sales record and performance. Thats only one example.

I have legions of excellent Pro Sales Specialists (yes, some are lazy and bad but that goes for every position) who have all been targeted because they never worked for Home Depot.

The replacements they intend to bring in will not need ahy experience, only a "go-getter" attitude. They dont want any tech savyness, construction background, knowledge, conceptual thought, problem solving, or anything a good company would look for from a possible candidate. Only a smile, lies, and misguided energy wheer even once they find a sale, wont know how to process it, add onto the cart, or even sell it right.

This company is so focused on the minutia and their own pockets that its disgusting. I cant work here anymore. When the ones calling the shots constantly make you "swear to secrecy", all is lost. And I hold every manager allowing this nonsense to continue personally responsible. They should be standing up, instead they all bow and hide their weak spineless tails between their legs as they are used as Marvs dogs of war on the good.

Shame on all of you. Im out. I am done.

My store manager loves to hire Home Depot employees, he figures he is sticking it to The Man. The only thing is these new employees are lazy and spend all of their time chatting with other former Home Depot employees.

^^. That’s called spin. He’s trying to convince the staff he’s doing the right thing. But he’s a puppet having his strings pulled. Watch for the growing nose.

Thank you OP.
Lowes’s was not broken from the bottom up. It was dysfunctional from the top down and continues to be. Sure there was and is complacency and entitlement but from personal experience, those people were and are management pets.
Fish rot from the head down.

Thank you for your honesty, and we all feel your frustration. And have targets on our backs. Marv is a figurehead, and yes, they are all cowards.
